The AJLI Communications and Marketing Award recipient 2017
At the 2017 Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) Annual Conference, the Junior League of Dayton was recognized for excellence in marketing and communications for its Kids in the Kitchen public service campaign. The project began in partnership with ThinkTV in 2014. The team worked from the ground up, with an idea, then storyboarding, casting, and finally production. Since that time the PSAs have been shown on ThinkTV (PBS) during children’s programming, used in schools, and played in the Junior League of Dayton’s Deli area at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery. In 2016 the program expanded to include an online learning component comprised of various games and activities for different age groups. The programming has been adopted as a model of success by the Association of Junior Leagues International, with two sister Leagues using the campaign as a template to replicate in their communities. As we look to the future we hope to continue to grow this program and reach even more families educating them on the importance of good nutrition.
