The Junior League of Dayton is committed to serving and supporting the greater-Dayton community. To support families around the Miami Valley that may be experiencing a hardship, we have gathered this list of resources to help you find the aid that you need. This list will be updated regularly to update and provide new supports as they become available. Please contact each organization directly to confirm details and determine suitability for your needs.

Target Dayton Ministries Christmas Day Crusade
Join Target Dayton on Christmas Day 2025 at the Dayton Convention Center. Every guest who attends gets a gift box filled with blessings. Doors open at 10am.
Family Holiday Movie Series at the Neon
Don’t miss the Family Movie Series – part of the Dayton Holiday Festival! 📽️
Kids get in free to a screening of a holiday movie (tickets for those over 12 are just $2!) at The NEON at 11 a.m. on Saturday December 6, 13, and 20!

Home for the Holidays 2025 at Have a Gay Day Dayton – December 28th
Have a Gay Day Dayton’s annual holiday event! They will be giving away meals and gifts of personal care and household cleaning items to the community.
Free Books for the Holidays Event – December 14th at Yellow Cab Tavern
Come join us as we celebrate the Holiday Season with an event aimed at promoting literacy in the Dayton community! There will be snacks, activities, and lots of Holiday fun! Organizations such as The Brunner Literacy Center, Help Me Grow, Preschool Promise, and so many more will be present to answer any questions or orchestrate registration. Georgia, daughter of a JLD member, will be collecting books as part of a book drive for her Girl Scout Gold Award that will be available for anyone to take!

The mini pantry movement is a grassroots, crowdsourced solution to immediate and local need. Whether a need for food or a need to give, mini pantries help feed neighbors, nourishing neighborhoods.

Good Neighbor House Food Pantry: Good Neighbor House provides a drive-thru pantry service to assist individuals and families every 14 days.Offerings include a variety of dry and canned goods, meats, and fresh fruits and vegetables when available. Fairview United Methodist Food Pantry: Food pantry is open three times a week on Monday and Friday mornings 10-12 and Wednesday evening at 6 PM. It is also open on the second Saturday 10-12 each month providing food for people in the community. Call 937-274-2180 on Monday or Friday between 9 & 10 to make an appointment for same day pickup. Mental Health Support
Miami Valley Warmline

Available Monday-Friday 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Provides free and confidential mental and behavioral health peer-support services to the community. The warmline is a phone number you can call to receive early intervention with emotional support that can prevent a crisis along with learning about behavioral health and recovery resources available to them in the community. This differs from emergency hotlines and is not intended for emergency calls. For a more serious crisis call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 988.
NAMI Montgomery County
NAMI Montgomery County Ohio is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness through support, education, and advocacy. They offer free peer-led and family support groups, educational programs, community outreach, and resource referrals to promote mental health awareness and recovery. While not a crisis service, they provide a welcoming network of understanding and connection for anyone seeking help or support in our community.

Miami Valley Community Action Partnership
Multiple programs provide Emergency Home Repairs to eligible households in Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery and Preble counties.
