Our Programs
Overview Community Programs Awards

For over eighty years, the Junior League of Dayton has mobilized expertise and resources to make the Dayton area a healthier more vital place to live.  Working within the current focus area, the Junior League systematically evaluates the critical needs of the community and  determines where they can make an impact.

Out Focus Area is Healthy Families. Specifically, the Focus Area of Concern includes the following:

  • Strengthening positive communication within families
  • Skills and education for healthy family interaction
  • Safe and stable homes, free from abuse and neglect
  • Valuing all family members, both young and old
  • Parenting skills
  • Support for families with special needs

The Junior League of Dayton sponsors various fundraising activities, whose proceeds go to support our community programs. Today, we sponsor the Town Hall Lecture Series and Causing a Stir - a Junior League of Dayton, Ohio cookbook.

Something new and exciting beginning in 2005 is the Junior League of Dayton's Signature Project. POWER (Program of Wellness Education and Resources) is a children's advocacy program that is a partnership between the Junior League of Dayton and the Children's Medical Center of Dayton, and is sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. POWER provides broad community outreach of health and wellness, safety, prevention, and nutrition programs to children and families throughout the Miami Valley.
